INDIANA, Pennsylvania — IUP senior Nyshae' Weaver was named an All-America honorable mention selection by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, as announced Wednesday.
Weaver is one of three PSAC West players to earn All-America recognition from the WBCA.
She ranks third in NCAA Division II in field-goal percentage while leading the PSAC champion Crimson Hawks in both scoring (15.8 points per game) and rebounding (9.2 per game). Weaver has played a key role in guiding IUP back to the Final Four for the third time in program history.
Over her career, Weaver has appeared in 83 games, scoring in double figures in 72 of them — an 86% rate. She was also named first-team all-region by the D2CCA and earned Atlantic Region tournament most valuable player honors.
Weaver will look to help IUP advance to its first national championship game when the Crimson Hawks face Colorado Mesa on Thursday at 6 p.m. at UPMC Cooper Field House on the campus of Duquesne University.
