ERIE, Pa. — The Indiana (Pa.) women's basketball team used a dominant second half to defeat Edinboro 71-55 in the PSAC Tournament semifinals Saturday afternoon at the Highmark Events Center.

The Crimson Hawks improved to 25-3 overall and advanced to the PSAC Championship game after holding the Fighting Scots to just six points in the third quarter.

IUP and Edinboro were even through the opening quarter as the teams were tied 15-15. The Crimson Hawks found their rhythm in the second, outscoring the Fighting Scots 25-19 to take a 40-34 lead into halftime.

The game shifted decisively after the break as IUP's defense took control. The Crimson Hawks limited Edinboro to six points in the third quarter while scoring 15 of their own to extend the lead to 55-40 heading into the final period.

Edinboro tried to chip away in the fourth, but IUP maintained control and finished off the 16-point victory.

The Crimson Hawks shot efficiently throughout the contest and controlled the glass while forcing key defensive stops during their decisive third-quarter run.

IUP will play in the PSAC Championship on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. inside the Highmark Events Center on the campus of Gannon University.
