INDIANA, Pa. — Fresh off securing a spot in the NCAA Division II national tournament, the IUP women's tennis team added more accolades Tuesday as three Crimson Hawks earned ITA Atlantic Region honors.
IUP captured its sixth Atlantic Region pod championship in program history Saturday with a victory over Charleston.
Freshman Charliz Tabili was named the ITA Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year after a standout debut season for the Crimson Hawks. The San Diego native posted 17 singles victories and added 23 doubles wins, totaling 40 victories in her first collegiate season.
Sophomore Asel Calbay earned ITA Atlantic Region Most Improved honors for the 2026 spring season. Calbay won nearly 60 percent of her singles matches and teamed with Hannah Beitat to record 21 doubles victories at the No. 2 position.
Lea von Kozierowski was named the ITA Atlantic Region Player to Watch entering her senior season. Competing primarily at No. 1 singles, von Kozierowski posted a 21-10 singles record and won 15 of her final 16 matches. Her only loss during that stretch came against Slippery Rock's Amaia Balaguer Brau, the ITA Atlantic Region Senior Player of the Year.
