INDIANA, Pa. – The IUP women's tennis team continued to excel in the classroom as seven student-athletes and the Crimson Hawks were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year.
IUP earned ITA All-Academic Team honors after posting a team grade-point average above 3.20.
Seven Crimson Hawks were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes after recording at least a 3.5 GPA during the academic year while appearing on the institution's eligibility form. The honorees were Maria Moskaltsova (sport management), Isabelle Oikawa Torres (health and physical education), Elina Mondani (biology), Ifigeneia Kafka (political science), Asel Calbay (management), Hannah Beitat (international business) and Lea von Kozierowski (psychology).
The academic honors add to a historic season for the Crimson Hawks, who established a program record with 15 consecutive victories, captured their sixth straight PSAC West regular-season championship and won the NCAA Atlantic Regional Pod in Indiana to advance to the NCAA Division II Championships.
IUP also earned numerous individual postseason accolades during the 2025-26 campaign. Four student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, while six Crimson Hawks received All-PSAC recognition. Charliz Tabili was named the PSAC West Freshman of the Year after an outstanding debut season.
The Crimson Hawks were also well represented in the ITA regional awards. Calbay was named the Atlantic Region's Most Improved Player, Tabili earned Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year honors and von Kozierowski was selected as the ITA Atlantic Region Player to Watch. Calbay, Tabili and von Kozierowski were all recognized as ITA All-Region selections.
With all but two players expected to return, IUP enters the 2026-27 season looking to build on one of the most successful campaigns in program history.
