INDIANA, Pa. – No. 11 IUP scored 35 unanswered points and turned in another dominant defensive performance Saturday, rolling past Seton Hill, 35-7, in its 2026 home opener at Miller Stadium.
The Crimson Hawks improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play, continuing their unbeaten start after opening the season with three consecutive games on the road.
Seton Hill struck first on a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown in the opening quarter, but the IUP defense did not allow the Griffins to find the end zone offensively.
From there, IUP took control.
Quarterback Mason Maggs threw four touchdown passes, completing 15 of 27 attempts for 203 yards. Maggs has now thrown 13 touchdown passes through the first four games of the season.
Connor Shamany turned in his biggest receiving performance of the season, hauling in seven passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Gavin Harrold and Landyn Moore also caught touchdown passes from Maggs.
Moore provided a spark on the ground as well, rushing 13 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. Leon Parson added 84 yards on 20 carries as the Crimson Hawks finished with 202 rushing yards.
IUP responded to Seton Hill's early special teams score with a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-7 advantage into halftime. The Crimson Hawks maintained that lead through a scoreless third quarter before breaking the game open with 21 unanswered points in the fourth.
The Crimson Hawks finished with 405 yards of total offense, splitting the production nearly evenly with 203 passing yards and 202 rushing yards. IUP also controlled possession for 37:36.
Defensively, the Crimson Hawks continued their strong start to the season, limiting Seton Hill to 222 total yards and 11 first downs. IUP forced four turnovers, intercepting two passes and recovering two fumbles.
The Griffins were unable to score an offensive touchdown as IUP's defense kept Seton Hill off the scoreboard over the final three quarters.
The victory marked IUP's fourth consecutive win to open the season and gave the Crimson Hawks a victory in their first game at Miller Stadium in 2026.
