2015 All-PSAC West (second team)

2015: Had a strong breakout season, earning second team All-PSAC West honors from his free safety spot … Started all 12 games, including once at strong safety, and finished second on the team with 65 total tackles and 36 solo stops … Picked off three passes, returning one 50 yards for a touchdown against Mercyhurst … Picked off two passes for 67 yards against the Lakers, earning PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week honors … Also had an interception against Cheyney … Broke up four additional passes … Had season-highs of 10 tackles and two tackles-for-loss at Slippery Rock … Had eight tackles against Gannon … Made seven stops against both Kutztown and Seton Hill … Made six tackles (four solo), broke up a pass and forced a fumble in comeback playoff win at Charleston.

2014: Started all 11 games at strong safety in first season after moving from quarterback...Finished sixth on the team with 46 total tackles...Had 26 solo stops...Mad 1.5 tackles-for-loss...Broke up three passes...Forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles...Had season-high eight tackles, including six solo, with two passes broken up and a fumble recovery against Seton Hill (10/11)...Had five tackles and a fumble recovery against Saint Augustine's (9/6).

2013: Played in three games as a backup quarterback in first season at IUP...Finished the year 7-of-9 for 103 yards and two touchdowns...Had efficiency rating of 247.2...Saw first action career against Cheyney (9/14)...Went 6-for-6 for 82 yards and a touchdown against Millersville (10/5)...Went 1-for-3 with a 21-yard touchdown pass against Clarion (11/2).

2012: Redshirted at Akron.

High School: Associated Press Class AA Player of the Year as a senior...Compiled a 26-3 record as a starter in his last two seasons...Led Golden Eagles (9-1) to a district championship and the state finals as a senior...Threw for more than 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns with a 57 percent pass completion percentage...Also rushed for 10 touchdowns...Recorded more than 4,500 yards and 49 touchdowns for his career...Coached by his father, John Franco, who was the Associated Press Class AA Coach of the Year in 2011.
