INFORMATION FOR THE MEDIA

The Sports Information Office at IUP is ready to assist the working media in any way possible. We gladly fulfill all reasonable requests.

ATHLETICS BRAND GUIDELINES (PDF)

INTERVIEW POLICY
The Sports Information Office will assist media members with the coverage of IUP Athletics.

All interviews with student-athletes MUST be arranged through the Sports Information Office. If a media member wishes to complete a more in-depth interview for a feature story, please contact Jacob Oberdorf at (724) 980-3152 or at jroberdo@iup.edu to arrange an interview.

IUP MEDIA SERVICES
Media members may access the most up-to-date information on all 19 IUP varsity sports on the athletic department’s official website: www.iupathletics.com.

Game notes, official statistics, game recaps, box scores and general releases will be updated regularly. All of this information is available online.

Sports Information Director Jacob Oberdorf will also send out game notes via email prior to each game. To get on the media list, please email her at
jroberdo@iup.edu.

FOOTBALL

CREDENTIALS
Credentials for IUP home football games are issued to working media only and should be requested as early as possible. All credential requests should be directed to Sports Information Director Jacob Oberdorf at jroberdo@iup.edu with the subject “Credential Request.”

Media members are asked to make credential requests at least 48 hours prior to the game. Any requests after this timeframe may not be accommodated.

Each visiting opponent sports information director submits a list of attending media members. To get on that list, please inform the respective school’s sports information director prior to that week.

MEDIA WILL CALL/ENTRANCE
All media members must pick up football credentials and enter at the George P. Miller Stadium Ticket Booth, which is open 1.5 hours prior to kickoff. The Ticket Booth is located on the East side of the stadium, in front of the main entrance (directly across from the Kovalchick Complex).

Due to time constraints, visiting radio and television can pick up their credentials in the press box or from their respective sports information director.

PARKING
There are no parking passes for working football media members. Instead, free parking for credentialed media is located in the Zink Lot, which is located on the Northwest corner of the stadium and can be reached from Maple Street. Please notify the parking attendants that you are working media for that game.

FOOTBALL INTERVIEW POLICY
Head Coach Paul Tortorella devotes each Wednesday morning for office time with media members to discuss the upcoming game. For all other interview requests for Tortorella, please contact the Sports Information Office.

Interviews with Tortorella and student-athletes are more open during post game. Student-athletes are available outside of the locker room in Memorial Field House after the game and Tortorella will host media members in his office after he meets with the team in the locker room. There is no post game press conference and no set times for the Tortorella conference.  Please note, NCAA postseason games have a different structure for post game availability.
