Billy Tecklenburg will enter his second season as the assistant coach for the IUP baseball program in the spring of 2016. 

Serving as the pitching coach, Tecklenburg oversaw a staff that featured three four-game winners in 2015, his first year with the Crimson Hawks. He also increased IUP's strikeout total as the staff went from 4.8 strikeouts per nine innings to 6.9 strikeouts last spring. 

Prior to coming to IUP, Tecklenburg spent the 2014 season at Marshall University, a member of the highly competitive Conference USA.  As the director of baseball operations, he was responsible for day-to-day operations of the Thundering Herd baseball team. While at Marshall, Tecklenburg earned a Masters of Arts in Leadership Studies. 

From 2009-2012, Tecklenburg was a four-year letter winner as an infielder at Ohio Dominican University under head coach Paul Page. After graduating from Ohio Dominican in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and History, Tecklenburg returned for a fifth season with the Panthers in 2013, serving as an assistant coach.

A native of Troy, Ohio, Tecklenburg currently resides in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
