Jared Grove enters his fourth year as an assistant coach in 2020. He will continue to work with the Crimson Hawks outfielders and catchers while assisting in all recruiting efforts.

Grove has overseen an IUP offense over the last three seasons that have put up very positive results. Since 2017, the Crimson Hawks have posted a .285 team batting average (1,120 for 3,935) with 198 doubles, 31 triples, 110 home runs and 675 runs batted in.

With an offense that saw only two returning starters in 2019, the Crimson Hawks team posted a .275 average, including 36 home runs while having an 83% stolen base percentage. The IUP offense also recorded 103 extra base hits.

With most of the starting lineup returning during the 2018 season, Grove saw an IUP offense that posted a .301 team average along with accumulating 125 extra base hits. This includes 75 doubles, 12 triples and 38 home runs. Six of the nine starters in the everyday lineup posted a .300 or above average while posting a .467 slugging percentage.

In his first year overseeing the IUP hitters, Grove helped lead an IUP offense that reached the PSAC Championship Tournament for the first time in six seasons. He oversaw two position players named PSAC West Players of the Week and saw one selected to the PSAC All-West team. That year, he saw an offense post a .279 average with 61 doubles, 14 triples and 36 home runs while accumulating 111 extra base hits.

Groves coaching career began in 2016, where he spent the summer serving as an assistant coach with the Butler BlueSox of the Prospect Summer Collegiate League before being named as an assistant coach for the Crimson Hawks in August 2016. That summer, he oversaw a BlueSox offense that recorded the second most hits in franchise history.

As an outfielder for California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U), Grove finished his collegiate playing career with a .243 career average, including 37 runs scored, 13 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 32 runs batted in and 10 stolen bases.

Grove graduated from Cal U in spring 2015 with a bachelors degree in sports management. He also earned his master’s degree from Cal U in sports administration with a concentration in intercollegiate athletics in spring 2016.
