Zach Heffner enters his first year as a student assistant coach for the Crimson Hawks. He will work with the IUP pitching staff and assist pitching coach Anthony Zambotti in all areas with the pitching staff.
Heffner, who finished his collegiate playing career in spring 2018, earned a bachelors degree from IUP in December 2017 in Criminology. He is currently working toward his masters degree at IUP in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He will graduate in June 2019.
As a collegiate student-athlete, he was a relief pitcher on the Crimson Hawks pitching staff. Injuries shortened his collegiate playing career after the 2018 season.
Heffner is a native of Douglassville, Pennsylvania. His younger brother, Lukas, is currently a sophomore on the Crimson Hawks pitching staff.
