Christian Bryan

Christian Bryan enters his second season on the IUP staff in 2018 as the wide receivers coach.  

In 2017, the receivers scored 31 touchdowns and averaged 199.2 yards per game.

Bryan comes to IUP from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was the wide receivers coach and oversaw video editing and recruiting. 

In his one season at Carnegie Mellon, Bryan worked with All-Conference wide receiver John Prather who broke the school record for receptions and receiving yards with 66 catches for 1,125 yards in 2016. 

Prior to his arrival at Carnegie Mellon, Bryan served as an undergraduate student assistant coach at Youngstown State University under Head Coach Bo Pelini.  Bryan worked directly with wide receivers coach Brian Crist.

Bryan is a 2015 graduate from Youngstown State with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in education and math. At Youngstown, Bryan was a four-year member of the Penguin football team.  He ended his career with 110 receptions which ranked eighth on the school’s all-time list while ranking 14th all-time in receiving yards and 13th all-time in receiving touchdowns. 

Bryan was a 2014 captain for Youngstown State and was named a recipient of the Dr. Neal R. Frost Outreach Man of the Year award his junior season, an award annually given by the coach staff.

Following his freshman season, he was named a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award, top freshman wide receiver in the FCS, after leading all freshman wide receivers nationally in receiving yards.
