Jim Chapin finished his second season as the running backs coach in 2013.

Chaplin coached a rushing attack in 2013 led by first team All-PSAC running back De'Antwan Williams. Williams finished fourth in the PSAC in rushing with 1,347 yards and 18 touchdowns, including a school record 315 yards and three touchdowns in the season finale against Shippensburg. The Crimson Hawks finished third in the PSAC in rushing offense with 216.7 yards per game and second in rushing touchdowns with 32.

During the 2012 season, Chapin coached a running attack that featured Harvie Tuck and De’Antwan Williams. Tuck finished third in the PSAC in
rushing with 1,660 yards and 16 touchdowns. Williams finished sixth in the PSAC with 1,325 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns. The Hawks finished tenth in the country in rushing yards with 3,630 yards and had 36 rushing touchdowns.

Prior to IUP, Chapin coached at Division III Adrian College for two seasons.

In 2011, Chapin coached the wide receivers at Adrian, where he helped orchestrate an offensive unit that led the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association in both total offense and points per game. In addition, Chapin served as Adrian’s special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator. In 2010, Chapin served as the tight ends and fullbacks coach, while doubling as the director of football operations.

Prior to his tenure with the Bulldogs, Chapin had a one year stint in 2009 as the running backs coach at Southern Tech Prep Academy in Charlotte, N.C.

In addition to his collegiate and prep coaching experience, Chapin also coached at the high school level from 2007-2008 at Dexter High School in Dexter, Mich.

Chapin is a 2009 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is a native of Troy, Mich, where he attended Troy High School.
