Megan Timpf, who represented Canada in the 2008 Olympic Games, is in her second season on the IUP coaching staff and first as a full-time assistant coach.
Timpf played her final two seasons of college softball at PSAC West rival California after transferring from Campbell where she was a team captain. She was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and was named to the all-conference team at shortstop with the Vulcans in 2006.
Timpf joined the Canadian national team in 2005 and was a member of its gold medal winning squad at the 2007 World University Games. The team also claimed a silver medal at the Pan American Games and won the bronze at the World Cup of Softball held in Oklahoma City.
She earned a spot on the Canadian Olympic Team in 2007 and helped her team win a gold medal at the 2008 International Challenge in Blacktown, Australia, and a silver at the 2007 China Cup held at the Olympic site in Beijing. In 2011, Timpf helped Canada to a bronze at the World Cup of Softball VI in Oklahoma City.
Timpf has worked as a camp and clinic instructor throughout Canada and the United States, including the development, planning and implementation of clinics with Team Canada and the California softball program as well as softball coaching clinics. She also spent two summers as a recreation counselor in her hometown of Port Dover, Ontario.
Timpf received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from California and her master's degree in sports science at IUP.
