Former Lycoming standout Eric Anthony has been named the second assistant on the IUP men’s basketball coaching staff, replacing Kranthi Senadhi who left after the 2009-10 season to pursue other interests.

Anthony earned his bachelor’s degree in financial accounting and financial management from Lycoming in June and spent the summer as a basketball instructor with The Hoop Group, working with some of the nation’s top recruits and providing individual instruction to further their skills.

He has worked as an instructor at various camps throughout the country over the past four years while also directing the intramural program and assisting with the strength and conditioning program at Lycoming.

On the floor, Anthony helped lead the Warriors to a pair of Commonwealth Conference regular season titles and a berth in the 2010 NCAA Division III tournament when Lycoming won a school-record 21 games. He was named to the all-conference first team three times, selected the team MVP his senior year and was a two-time team captain.

Anthony, who spent one year at Robert Morris before transferring to Lycoming, finished his career with averages of 15.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He reached the 1,000-point mark in only three seasons and led the Commonwealth Conference in free throw shooting at 89.9 percent and was ninth in assists at 2.85 per game his senior year.

He also excelled academically, receiving recognition as an honored member of the Accounting Society at Lycoming and was named an Institute for Management Studies Scholar. He was a Middle Atlantic Conferences All-Academic Award recipient following his senior season.
