Greg Bearer returned to IUP to join the men's basketball staff for his first season as an assistant coach in 2022-23.
Bearer is an IUP alum that played for head coach Joe Lombardi from 2015-17 and again as a senor in 2018-19.
He arrives in Indiana following a two-year stint at at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, working as the assistant coach for the high school national team and director of player development. He also lead the DME White High School team as head coach, which included responsibilities such as curating workout sessions and practice plans for over 100 student-athletes.
Bearer was named a team captain on the 2018-19 team as a senior, part of a group that won a PSAC Championship and boasted a 30-3 overall mark. The Crimson Hawks were hosts for the Atlantic Region Tournament that season, while Bearer also worked closely with department staff as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
