Jake Perrin enters the 2022-23 season as the graduate assistant coach for the Crimson Hawks as he looks to obtain a master's degree in business administration.
Prior to joining Joe Lombardi's staff at IUP, Perrin served as the head boys’ varsity basketball coach at Punxsutawney High School (AAAA) in District 9, where he was responsible for opponent scouting, game preparation, practice management, fundraising, player development and managing coaches from JV-7th grade. Perrin acquired an 0-10 conference team in the Chucks, posting a 6-9 overall record that was cut short due to COVID-19. In 2021-12, te Chucks took another step, finishing with a 10-11 overall record and advancing to the district championship game.
Perrin also spent four seasons with the Dubois Dream Semi-Professional organization, where he worked through nearly all the ranks. He started as the statistician for the team, moved to assistant coach, played for the team as the starting PG, and eventually became the head coach. His duties included practice management, game preparation, community service coordination and recruitment. While there, he assisted in landing multiple DI and DII athletes, including Lionel Ellison (Fresno State), Devin Wyatt (Incarnate Word) and Pat Moseh - (Wheeling)
Perrin studies Penn State University of DuBois as an undergraduate, where he earned three letters as a team captain his junior and senior year. He earned three Academic All-America selections.
Perrin graduated high school in 2013 from Brockway, helping the team to a single-A District Nine championship and a berth in the state playoffs as a captain. He received all-league and all-district honors.
