Jimmy Langhurst

Jimmy Langhurst will enter his second year as an assistant coach for the IUP men's basketball program in 2015-16. His first year on the IUP bench ended with the Crimson Hawks' run to the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship game, the second appearance for the program since 2010.

Langhurst joined the Crimson Hawks' staff in 2014 after working with the Hoop Group in Neptune, N.J.  At this position, he recruited student-athletes, evaluated students at the Hoop Group Top 100 and Jr. Elite Top 100, assisted with the planning and implementation of team tournaments, and provided individual and group basketball instruction.

Prior to his time with the Hoop Group, Langhurst spent three years playing professional basketball abroad.  He began his professional career with the Sheffield Sharks in the British Basketball League where he lead the team, and held sixth place in the league, in PPG (19.2).  He also led the team and the league in 3pt% (45.9) and FT% (92.4).  During his time with the Sheffield Sharks, he was awarded Honorable Mention on the All British Team.

In addition to his time with the British Basketball League, Langhurst also participated in the A-Game Hoops tournaments in Canada in 2012.  In 2013 he competed in the U-Hoops tournaments in Mexico before coming to Pennsylvania and becoming a personal trainer at Five Points Fitness in Aliquippa.

In the past, Langhurst also has experience working as a camp coach and instructor at the Robert Morris University Basketball Camp, the Willard High School Basketball Camp, the Next Level Basketball Camp and the Seneca East High School Basketball Camp.

Langhurst called Robert Morris University home from 2006-2010.  At Robert Morris, he was a four-year full scholarship athlete for men's basketball and a team captain for two years.  He was part of a team that accomplished three 20-win seasons and saw action in two NCAA post-season tournaments.  Langhurst was ranked the 40th best shooter in the country by Fox Sports, and holds a 10th place all-time record at Robert Morris for career three-point field goals with 157.

Langhurst earned his B.A. in social science at Robert Morris University in the spring of 2010.
