Jennifer Beatty finished her first season as the assistant men's and women's swimming coach at IUP in 2013-14. She helped guide a swimming program that had four All-Americans from the women's team and one All-American from the men's team, with total of ten total All-American honors at the NCAA championships this past season.
The Crimson Hawk men's team finished in third at the 2013-14 PSAC Championships, which was the program's best since finishing third in 2005. The women's team finished second overall, which was their highest finish as a program since winning the conference championship in 1999 and went on to finish in 16th place at the NCAA championships, which was second highest among PSAC schools and was the highest for the program since its 14th place finish in 2003.
Beatty joined the Crimson Hawks after graduating from Division I Bowling Green State University in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) where she wrapped up a successful career in the pool with the Falcons.
Beatty left with her name in the top 10 of six events in the BGSU record books, including seventh in both the 100 and 200 yard backstroke. She earned Academic All-MAC honors three times and was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District® At-Large and All-America At-Large teams during her time with the Falcons. She graduated in 2013 with a 4.0 with a bachelor's of science degree.
Beatty is from Indiana, Pa., where she swam for Indiana Senior High School before graduating in 2008. She's worked at the YMCA of Indiana County since 2006 and has volunteered with the Special Olympics.
