Giorgiana Zeremenko begins her first year as an assistant coach for the IUP softball program for the 2021 season.
Zeremenko comes to IUP after spending the fall semester on the coaching staff at Saint Francis University in Loretto. She also has experience as an assistant at the University of Louisville and as an AAU assistant.
During her time at Louisville, Zeremenko helped lead the Cardinals to the regional finals of the NCAA tournament as the volunteer assistant coach. In her 17-month stay, she worked with primarily with the batters, catchers and infielders which enabled the Cardinals offense to outperform its opponents in every offensive category in 2019.
Zeremenko is a 2018 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science. She had a tremendous athletic career with a multitude of impactful seasons, posting a .307 career batting average and holds three single-season records as the Panthers star-studded catcher/infielder across her 4-year tenure with the team.
She was a pivotal piece on Pitt's first ACC Coastal Division Championship as a senior and became the program's first player selected in a professional draft, being picked by the E1 Pro Ballers with the 19th overall pick in the American Softball Association (ASBA) draft.
