Jaclyn Babe enters her first year as women's basketball assistant coach in 2014.
Babe comes to IUP after a successful playing career at both Central Connecticut State and Duquesne University. A two-time all-conference player for CCSU, she graduated with two of the top scoring seasons in school history while also boasting CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
A Mount Lebanon, Pa. native, Babe played scholastically at Mount Lebanon High School, leading the Blue Devils to the PIAA Class AAAA championship game and a 27-3 record as a senior. Averaging 11 points and contributing in every statistical category for the state runners-up, she was named to the prestigious Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fab Five team for the 2007-08 season.
After Mount Lebanon, she played at Duquesne where she saw action in 50 games in her first two collegiate seasons. She then transferred to Central Connecticut State where she was a two-year captain and averaged 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, earning first team Northeast Conference honors as a senior.
Upon graduating in 2013 with a 3.7 cumulative grade point average in marketing, Babe continued her education at West Virginia University while also serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Mount Lebanon during the 2013-14 season. She has also served as a camp counselor at St. Francis University, Chartiers Valley High School.
With the Crimson Hawks, Babe will serve as the second assistant and contribute in all coaching facets of the program, including the serving as the camp director and will have a recruiting area of Western Pennsylvania.
