Chuck Shoemaker

Chuck Shoemaker finished his first season as the assistant coach for the women’s volleyball program in 2013. Shoemaker came to the Crimson Hawks from the University of Cumberlands, where he was a graduate assistant in 2012.

Shoemaker helped coach the Crimson Hawks to a 13-21 record in 2013. 

As assistant coach of the Crimson Hawks, Shoemaker works primarily with the team's blockers, which included first team All-PSAC player Elizabeth Sova, who had 98 blocks in 2013. He is also responsible for the day to day operations of the team and also serves as the volleyball camp director.

Shoemaker spent his time at UC as the assistant to the head coach where he helped lead the Patriots to an 18-10 overall record. His primary duty was recruiting while also assisting in all aspects of skills training. He was also the head coach of the junior varsity team at UC.

Prior to UC, Shoemaker was the assistant men’s volleyball coach for Deer Lakes High School during the 2011 season. During his one season at Deer Lakes, they captured the 2011 PIAA State Championship. He was also head of the volleyball program at Camp Canadensis. He was in charge of teaching skills and fundamentals to introductory volleyball campers in 2010.

Shoemaker is 2011 graduate of Clarion University, where he spent four seasons as the women’s volleyball manager. In his final season of 2010, the Golden Eagles advanced to the Elite Eight of the 2010 NCAA Division II Championships.

He also created the men’s volleyball clubs at Clarion and at UC.

The Pittsburgh, PA native has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a minor in athletic coaching from Clarion and a master’s degree in education from UC.
