In 2025, Evan Weaver completed a second season as an assistant coach with Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Cross Country and Track & Field programs, contributing to the development of the Crimson Hawks’ distance athletes. Weaver joined the IUP coaching staff in February 2024, bringing experience as a former Crimson Hawk student-athlete and team captain.
As an assistant coach, he supports the program through structured workout facilitation, meet-day logistics, and collaboration with the head coach on training plans and competition schedules. During the program’s coaching transition in 2025, Evan played a key role in designing and distributing a comprehensive summer training plan for IUP’s distance runners.
A two-year team captain for IUP’s cross country team, Weaver enjoyed a decorated collegiate career. He earned USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic Athlete honors in 2022 and received All-PSAC and USTFCCCA All-Region recognition in the 3000-meter steeplechase the same year. Weaver was also a five-time PSAC Track & Field Championships top-eight scorer, competing in the mile, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, and 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Outside of coaching, Weaver works as a school psychologist in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. He earned a master’s degree in educational psychology from IUP in 2022 and completed an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in school psychology in 2024.
