Senior runner Austin Cooper has been named an IUP Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the sports information office on Monday, Nov. 6.

Cooper also gets the nod after helping the IUP men’s cross country team to a third place finish at Saturday’s NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships in Lock Haven. The top three finish clinched an NCAA Division II Championship berth for the Crimson Hawks, the first time for the men’s program since 1993.
 
Cooper led the team with a sixth place individual finish, running the 10K course in 3:10.7 to earn all-region honors for the second time in his career.
 
This is Cooper’s second IUP weekly award of the fall and the ninth of his career.
