IUP senior Lisa Bachman (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) scored early on senior day as the Crimson Hawks jumped out early and held on for a 2-1 win over visiting Mercyhurst Saturday afternoon at George P. Miller Stadium in PSAC West action.

Bachman got the scoring started just 6:51 into the game when she netted a goal on a pass from Shannon Sullivan (Pittsburgh/North Allegheny) pass.

Sarah Burke (Merrimack, NH/Merrimack) extended the IUP (8-7, 3-4) lead with a goal at 15:53 assisted by Erin Shrik to give the Crimson Hawks a 2-0 halftime lead.

Katie Erbacher got Mercyhurst (3-11, 2-4) on the board at 45:47 with an unassisted goal and set the final.

With the win IUP keeps its playoff hopes alive just a half game out of the final playoff spot in the PSAC West.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action Saturday when they travel to C.W. Post.
