Anouk Sickman's Overtime Goal Lifts Crimson Hawks Past Millersville

Anouk Sickman leads IUP with four goals this season

Final Stats

IUP snapped a three-game losing streak when Anouk Sickman (Antwerp, Belgium/Lazac Cellepe) scored on a penalty corner just 1:16 into overtime to give the Crimson Hawks a 3-2 victory at Millersville.

Sickman scored two goals for IUP (2-3), giving her a team-leading four on the season. After the Marauders tied the game with 4:53 remaining, Jillian Duld (Allentown/Parkland) sent a penalty corner pass to Sickman who beat goalie Sara Dickinson to the right side of the goal.

Sickman gave the Crimson Hawks a quick lead when she found the cage just 6:01 into the contest. Millersville (3-4) tied it up at the 23:50 mark on a goal by Brittany Troutman off an assist by Ashley Weber before IUP struck quickly to take the lead into halftime.

Dickinson saved a shot by Kacie Klotz (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton) but the rebound went to Duld, who put it in with 5:12 left in the first half to give IUP a 2-1 advantage. It stayed that way until Emily Manwiller tied it for the Marauders late in the second half.

The Crimson Hawks held a narrow 14-12 advantage in shots while Millersville led in penalty corners by the same margin. Lydia Dolly (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) made six saves while picking up her first win of the season in goal and Dickinson was credited with three saves.

IUP plays its first home games in 24 days when it hosts Shippensburg Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Miller Stadium.
