Box Score

INDIANA, PA - Shannon Sullivan (Pittsburgh/North Allegheny) scored her 14th goal of the season and added an assist as the IUP field hockey team defeated Seton Hill 3-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action Wednesday night. With the win, the Crimson Hawks wrapped up 6-2 home record this season.

Ashley Youngman (Selinsgrove/Selinsgrove) broke a scoreless tie in the 22nd minute of the game when she took a pass from Anouk Sickman (Antwerp, Belgium/Lazac Cellepe) and found the back of the cage to give IUP a 1-0 lead. The assist was Sickman's team-leading ninth of the season. The Crimson Hawks would add another goal late in the first half when Sullivan weaved through several Seton Hill defenders and deposited the goal.

IUP would add an insurance goal with just seconds to play in the second half when Sullivan found Ashley Mosner (Newton, NJ/Newton) with a beautiful cross from the right side. Mosner knocked in the goal and sealed the victory for IUP. Brittany Varacallo (New Britain/Central Bucks South) and Sarah Lemieux (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) split time in goal and combined for five saves in the shutout win.

The Crimson Hawks wrap up the regular season this Saturday when they travel to Slippery Rock for a PSAC playoff preview. They will return home next Tuesday, October 25 to host the Rock in the quarterfinals of the PSAC tournament. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. at Miller Stadium.
