Women's Hoops Gets Win Over Mount Aloysius in Final Exhibition

INDIANA, PA - Ashley Stoner (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Thomas Jefferson) scored 10 points and added seven boards in 16 minutes as IUP defeated visiting Mount Aloysius 71-34 in the Crimson Hawks final exhibition game before next weekend's opener.

The Crimson Hawks scored the game's first 19 points, not allowing a point until the Mounties scored at the 12:19 mark in the first half. IUP then went on to outscore the Mounties 22-9 to take a 41-10 lead into the break.

Mount Aloysius played stronger in the second half, with the Crimson Hawks outscoring the Mounties 30-24 en route to the 34-point victory.

Melanie Todd (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) had 10 rebounds for the Crimson Hawks, including five offensive, and added three steals in 20 minutes. Talen Watson (Odenton, MD/Arundel) scored six and had four assists in 15 minutes off the bench while Vianca Tejada (Pennsauken, NJ/Cherry Hill East) added seven boards, six offensive, in 16 minutes.

The Crimson Hawks tip off the regular season next Saturday, November 12, when they host Goldey-Beacom in the first official game at the Kovalchick Complex.
