Box Score

INDIANA, PA - Anouk Sickman (Antwerp, Belgium/Lazac Cellepe) had five shots on goal but was unable to break through as the Crimson Hawks dropped their first game of the 2011 season to second-ranked West Chester by a score of 3-0 on Friday afternoon.

The Crimson Hawks were only able to muster three shots on goal in the first half and trailed 1-0 at the break, but Sickman led an offensive charge that put nine shots on goal in the second half. Sickman drilled the post early in the second half that would have tied the game at 1-1, and put several other shots that just missed finding the back of the cage.

The Golden Rams were led by Brynn Adams, who had two goals in the game. Nicole Fiorilla added an insurance goal with just over 11 minutes left in the game, and Melinda Speers had an assist.

Sarah Lemieux (Dublin, OH/Dublin Coffman) and Brittany Varacallo (New Britain/Central Bucks South) split time in goal and combined for nine saves in the game. The Crimson Hawks are back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host seventh-ranked Kutztown at Miller Stadium. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
