INDIANA, PA – Four different Crimson Hawks scored goals as IUP took a 3-0 lead halftime lead and turned it into a 4-1 win as IUP defeated West Virginia Wesleyan in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at the South Campus Field.

IUP starting the scoring in just the fourth minute when Lindsay Lobevero (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott)'s nice cross pass found Heather Robbins (Frederica, DE/Polytech), who knocked it past the goalie for her fifth goal of the season.

Despite a couple of early shots from the Bobcats, the ball mostly stayed with the IUP offense, as the Crimson Hawks controlled the tempo for not only the first half, but most of the game.

Melissa Kornock (Hatfield/North Penn) put the Crimson Hawks up 2-0 when her penalty kick threaded the net at the 25:07 mark after a foul by West Virginia Wesleyan. That was also her fifth goal of the season.

IUP got its last goal of the half when Tori Pickur found Jordan Howerton (Prince Frederick, MD/Calvert) on a cross in the 40th minute, Howerton's first goal of the year.

The game remained scoreless for most of the second half until the momentum switched to the Bobcats and Rachel Richey knocked one in on a scramble in front of the net to make the score 3-1.

West Virginia Wesleyan started to press more offensively as the game became more physical, but the Crimson Hawks used that to their advantage, as Sharee McCarty (Lancaster/Conestoga Valley) scored IUP's fourth and final goal on a penalty kick in the 87th minute.

Kelly Brennan (Middletown/Middletown) was solid in the net for the 5-0-1 Crimson Hawks, going the entire 90 minutes and posting seven saves.

IUP gets back to PSAC play on Saturday as the Crimson Hawks battle Gannon at the South Campus Field at 1:00 p.m.
