INDIANA, PA – IUP's Jackie Hynson (King George, VA/King George) will look to repeat as an All-American while Allyson Mitidieri (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) and Steve Long (Greensburg/Hempfield) join her at the 2012 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming Championships this week at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium in Mansfield, Texas.

They are just three of 340 swimmers competing from 67 total schools as the championships are set to get underway on Wednesday, March 14.

Hynson will be competing in the 100 and 200 fly along with the 200 back. The school record holder in each of those events, Hynson also owns Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship meet records in both of those events.

Entering this week, Hynson is seeded third in the nation in both the 200 fly and 200 back with times of 2:01.70 and 1:59.60, respectively. Also an IUP record holder in the 100 fly with a time of 55.83, she is seeded 10th at the meet in that event. She was also the PSAC champion in each of those events last month.

Hynson has earned All-American status in both the 200 fly and 200 back at each of the last two seasons, in addition to be named All-American in the 400 IM and honorable mention in the 200 IM at least year's NCAA championships.

Mitidieri will also be competing in three events as she goes to Texas to swim the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 breast.

Her time of 4:25.29 in the 400 IM is seeded third, a mark she set at the Zippy Invitational in December. She's also a new IUP record holder in the 200 breast and 200 IM, setting the new standards of 2:18.35 and 2:05.43, respectively, at the PSAC championships last month. She heads into this week seeded eighth in the 200 breast and 12th in the 200 IM.

Mitidieri also took home PSAC titles in each of these events at the championships in February.

Long will be competing in the 100 fly at the NCAA championships, an event in which he's set several records in this season.

Long's time of 48.61 at the PSAC championships in February set new IUP, meet, and conference records, winning the race by nearly two full seconds.

The NCAA championships will run through Saturday, March 17, with trials scheduled in the morning sessions on Wednesday thru Friday, while finals will be in the evening sessions each day as well as all day on Saturday.
