MANSFIELD, TX – Jackie Hynson (King George, VA/King George) and Allyson Mitidieri (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) both earned All-American honors on Thursday in the second day of competition at the 2012 NCAA Division II Swimming Championships.

Hynson earned her second All-American honor of the week after finished sixth in the 100 fly, while Mitidieri placed eighth in the 400 IM to earn her second All-American honor of the championships. In Addition, Steve Long (Greensburg/Hempfield) placed 19th in the 100 fly on the men's side.

In the 100 fly, Hynson swam a finals time of 55.69 after posting a prelim time of 55.97, which was good enough for sixth entering the finals. This is Hynson's second All-American honor of the championships after placing in fifth in the 200 IM on Wednesday.

Mitidieri finished with a time of 4:27.08 in the 400 IM, which was just over a second slower than her prelim time of 4:25.98 that seeded her sixth heading into the finals. Mitidieri also earned her second All-American honor of the championships after placing eighth in the 200 IM on Wednesday.

Long finished in 19th in the 100 fly with a time of 49.11. Long swam a time of 48.61 at the PSAC championships in February set a new IUP, meet, and conference records, winning the race by nearly two full seconds.

This is the seventh All-American nod for Hynson after getting two in 2010 and three more in 2011. This is Mitidieri's second All-American honor this season.

The eight competitors in the championship heat automatically earn All-American honors while swimmers nine through 16 earn honorable mention All-American honors.

The swimmers hit the pool again tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. for prelim racers, while the finals slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
