Women’s Swimming Gets Dual Meet win at Shippensburg

SHIPPENSBURG, PA – Allyson Mitidieri (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) and Aniella Janosky (Dover/Dover Area) broke pool records as the IUP women's swimming team defeated Shippensburg 155.5-105.5 in dual meet action on Saturday afternoon.

Janosky broke a 22-year old pool record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:11.40. Mitidieri's time of 4:37.40 in the 400 IM broke a 13-year old pool record.

In addition to her pool record and win in the 200 fly, Janosky also won the 100 fly. Her sister, Christina Janosky (Dover, Pa. /Dover ), won the 1000 freestyle while Emily Shumaker (Carlisle/Big Spring) won the 100 backstroke.

Emily Clark (Cresco/Pocono Mountain East) was the other IUP individual winner, taking home honors in the 100 breastroke.

The Crimson Hawks also won two relays on the day, the 200 medley and the 200 freestyle.

The Crimson Hawks are back in action on Nov. 21-23 when they host the three-day Pidgeon Invitational.
