Stokes Finishes NCAA Championships as Two-Time All-American in Backstroke Events

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – IUP Crimson Hawks women's swimming and diving junior Kasha Stokes capped her week at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships with another All-American performance, finishing eighth in the 200 backstroke.

Stokes posted a finals time of 2:02.04 after swimming a 1:59.23 in the prelims. Her preliminary mark placed her seventh heading into the finals and improved upon her previous qualifying standard of 1:59.38.

With the result, Stokes finished the championships as a two-time All-American this season, earning honors in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.

Overall, Stokes and sophomore Gem Crittenden will return to Indiana, Pa., with two podium finishes and one honorable mention performance from the national meet.
