Women's Volleyball Falls in Final Matches of Ferris State Invitational

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The women's volleyball team fell in their final two matches of the Ferris State Invitational at the hands of Missouri – St. Louis and Saginaw Valley State on Saturday.

The Crimson Hawks lost in straight sets to both teams.

In the first set against Missouri – St. Louis, the Crimson Hawks were narrowly edged out, dropping the set 25-22. They fell in the final two sets 25-14. Meghan Schneider (Lake Geneva, Wis. /Big Foot) led the team in kills with seven and Elizabeth Sova (Myerstown, Pa. /ELCO) wasn't far behind with six of her own. Lindsay Moeller (Troy, Mich./Troy) added 16 assists in the Crimson Hawks' effort.

Saginaw Valley dominated the Crimson Hawks early on, winning 25-15, 25-22 and 25-14. Sova and Schneider again led the team in kills with 10 and six, respectively.

With the losses, the team falls to 0-4 on the season. They will next travel to Findlay, Ohio, for the Findlay Fall Classic Sept. 13 and 14 where they'll face off against Hillsdale, Malone and Findlay.
