Potvin named PSAC West Athlete of the Week after dominant offensive stretch

INDIANA, Pa. – IUP junior middle blocker Charlotte Potvin was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week after putting together an impressive offensive stretch and helping lead the Crimson Hawks to a pair of victories.

Potvin totaled 32 kills while hitting .411 across nine sets during IUP's 2-0 week. She averaged 3.56 kills and 4.33 points per set while hitting better than .400 in both matches.

The junior opened the week with a season-best performance in a five-set road victory at Wheeling. Potvin powered the IUP attack with a season-high 23 kills while hitting .410 for the match.

Her 23 kills were the most by a Crimson Hawk in a match this season. Potvin also made an impact at the net defensively, adding five total blocks and finishing the match with 27.5 points.

Potvin remained efficient later in the week as IUP returned home for a four-set victory over Seton Hill. She finished with nine kills while hitting .412, marking her second consecutive match with a hitting percentage above .400.

The two performances continued a strong stretch for Potvin and helped IUP add two more victories to its season total. Her production against Wheeling and Seton Hill combined for 32 kills in just nine sets while committing limited attacking errors.

Potvin's honor adds to a strong season for the IUP volleyball program, which has continued to receive contributions throughout its lineup while establishing itself among the top teams in the PSAC West and Atlantic Region.
