Women's Soccer Falls to Kutztown 3-1

KUTZTOWN, PA - IUP women's soccer fell to the Golden Bears 3-1 Saturday in Kutztown. 
 
The Crimson Hawks, coming off a big 4-1 win over Davis & Elkins, now have a overall record of 8-5-2, 7-5-1 in the PSAC.  After recent losses to Edinboro, West Chester and East Stroudsburg, IUP has fallen to 7th place in the PSAC.  
 
Freshman Victoria Crawford (Port Matilda, Pa. /State College) scored the first goal of the game and the only goal for the Crimson Hawks, just under 12 minutes into play.  This scoring play came with an assist by Riley Bartoo (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls), setting Crawford up for a one-on-one shot against the Kutztown goalkeeper.
 
The Golden Bear's goals came in the 23rd, 29th and 66th minutes.  Kutztown scored these goals from their 22 total shots. 
 
IUP tallied 12 shots throughout the entire matchup, coming from Bartoo, Crawford, Kate Numer (Lebanon, Pa. /Cedar Crest), Lexie Palluconi (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport), Taylor Vladic (Duncansville, Pa. /Hollidaysburg), Brittney Kuhns (Middleburg, Pa. /Midd-West) and Erica Boyle (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney). In goal for the Crimson Hawks was Jessica Printz (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) who stopped a total of eight shots.   
 
The Crimson Hawks will return home next Saturday, Oct. 25, to face Clarion at 1:30 p.m. at the South Campus Field.  Their next game is on the road at Gannon, Oct. 28.  The team finishes their regular season Nov. 1 when they host Mercyhurst at 1:30 p.m.
