INDIANA, PA - In a cold, rainy matchup, the No. 24 Crimson Hawks fall short 2-1 to the Edinboro Fighting Scots.
IUP attacked quickly at the beginning of play, but it would be their only goal of the game. In just the third minute,
Victoria Crawford (Port Matilda, Pa. /State College) scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist by
Lexie Palluconi (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport).
Ten minutes later, Edinboro's Ashley Mutkus scored the team's first goal of the game off a free kick. Their second, and final, score came in the 60th minute of play when a corner kick by the Fighting Scot's soared into the net.
The Crimson Hawks recorded only five shots throughout the entire game, while Edinboro recorded a total of 11. IUP goalkeeper
Jessica Printz (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) played the full 90 minutes, and saved five shots.
In addition to Crawford, other Crimson Hawk's to take a shot on the goal were Palluconi and Vladic.
This loss dropped IUP's record to 7-2-2, 7-2-1 in the PSAC. The team sees its next action Oct. 8 when they host West Chester at the South Campus Field at 4:00 p.m.
