Field Hockey Finishes 2014 Season With a 2-0 Loss to Millersville

MILLERSVILLE, PA - IUP field hockey completes their 2014 season with a 2-0 defeat from the Marauders in Millersville Saturday. 

Millersville outshot the Crimson Hawks 20-2 throughout the 70 minutes of competition.  IUP also recorded just one penalty corner to the Marauders' 16.  Millersville earned one goal in each period to secure their 2-0 win.  

Casey McGowan (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) and Sarah Zielinski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) were the only Hawks to attempt shots for IUP.  Senior Darian Shuker (Reading, Pa./Exeter ) played the entirety of the game, and finished with a total seven saves.  

The Crimson Hawks finish the season with a 6-11 overall record, 4-10 in the PSAC.  The end of this season also marks the end of six players - Tia Barndt (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia), Chelsea Wanamaker (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley), McGowan, Paige Klouser (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim), Shuker and Jess Kida (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) - collegiate careers.
