INDIANA, PA - IUP women's soccer and the Shippensburg Lady Raiders finished 110 minutes of play in a 1-1 tie Wednesday at the South Campus Field.
The first half proved to be tough for each team. The Crimson Hawks recorded only three shots, and the Lady Raiders only four. The two teams went into halftime with no score on the board.
Shippensburg, now 1-3-2, attacked first in the 61st minute of the game. The shot was a header by Alyssa House off of a corner kick.
Just 13 minutes later, IUP responded with a goal by
Riley Bartoo (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls). This goal came from a free penalty kick awarded to the Crimson Hawks after a Shippensburg hand ball violation. Despite both teams adding shots after the score was tied at 1-1, neither team was successful.
Both overtime periods were difficult for IUP who attempted no shots on goal. The Lady Raiders took two shots in the first overtime period, and three in the second, but couldn't get past IUP goalie

This match marked the second consecutive game that IUP has seen action in overtime. Saturday, the Crimson Hawks defeated Slippery Rock in overtime 1-0 with a header by
