MORGANTOWN, WV - The IUP women's tennis team wrapped up its second day of competition at West Virginia University's Pink Invitational on Saturday. A total of seven different Crimson Hawks saw the court against players from Cleveland State, Buffalo, and host West Virginia, all Division I schools.
The closest match of the day for IUP came in doubles play, with
Luise Von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) and
Alanna McFail (Fort Washington, Md. /St. John's College ) falling to Lyn Yuen Choo and Yvon Martinez of West Virginia, 7-6 (4-0).
Katrine Gransoe (Holte, Denmark/KNORD HHX) and
Rachel Wood (Nottingham, U.K./West Bridgrord) also fell Laura Fernandez and Laura Holterbosch of Buffalo 7-5.
In singles play,
Raquel Gonzalez (San Sebastian, Spain/Colegio Sagrado Corazon) fell to Jana Schober of Cleveland State 6-4, 6-2.Â
IUP is scheduled to continue play in Morgantown tomorrow morning.Â
