MORGANTOWN, WV - The IUP women's tennis team wrapped up three days of action on Sunday at West Virginia University's Pink Invitational.
The Crimson Hawks squared off in singles play against six players from the University of Buffalo, a Division I school out of the Mid-American Conference. Three IUP players went to three sets in their matches, including
Alanna McFail (Fort Washington, Md. /St. John's College ) who won her opening set over Christine Haraldson 6-4. Haraldson then responded with wins of 6-2 and 6-4 to win the match.
Rachel Wood (Nottingham, U.K./West Bridgrord) fell to Laura Fernandez 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 and
Luise Von Agris (Castrop-Rauxel Germany/Adalbet-Stifter-Gymnasium) lost to Dayana Agasieva 6-0, 3-6, 6-0.
This was the last fall tournament for the Crimson Hawks, who will play in a pair of schedule Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference dual matches against Millersville and Kutztown next weekend. Both matches will be played at Clarion University on Friday, Oct. 3.
