PHILIPPI, WV – Lexie Palluconi (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport) scored the Crimson Hawks' lone goal in the 58th minute to help the 24th-ranked IUP women's soccer team to a 1-1 non-conference tie at Alderson-Broaddus on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
 
Palluconi's goal came on a header off of a corner kick, her second goal in as many games. Over the next 32 minutes of regulation, the Crimson Hawks peppered the goal with shots trying to take the lead. Their last chance came from Palluconi, who tried another header on a corner in the final minute, but her attempt was saved to send the game to overtime.
 
In the extra 20 minutes, IUP was able to take three more shots at the net but none of them connected. On the opposite end, Crimson Hawks' goaltender Jessica Printz (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) made a pair of saves in the extra time to keep the Battlers from going on top.
 
The Crimson Hawks outshot Alderson-Broaddus 16-10, while also holding an advantage on corner kicks 8-5.
 
Alderson-Broaddus took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, getting a goal by Katie Lewis off of a corner kick.

Earlier in the day, the Crimson Hawks reentered the national polls as they showed up at No. 24 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II Top 25. IUP debuted at No. 16 in the poll on Sept. 16 before falling out in last week's release. This week's poll. 
 
The Crimson Hawks, now 6-1-2 on the season, begin a three-game homestand this weekend when they host Mansfield on Friday and Edinboro on Saturday. Both matches are 3 p.m. kickoffs.
