 u92radio.comTHE GAMENo. 11 Crimson Hawks face their first two opponents of 2015 Saturday and Sunday when they travel east to face East Stroudsburg and No. 20 West Chester.  The Warriors, 4-6 overall, are fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East, while the the Golden Rams are in first place with an overall record of 9-1.  In the all-time series, IUP holds a lead over each team.  The Crimson Hawks lead East Stroudsburg 14-3, with their last meeting in 2012-13 ending with an IUP victory of 67-49.  Also in the 2012 season, the Crimson Hawks came out on top of the Golden Rams 94-65. Â
LAST TIME OUTThe last time IUP took the court, the team found an 67-53 win over at-the-time No. 17 Bloomsburg improving IUP's record to 10-0 overall.  This victory was made possible by three Crimson Hawks' - R-Jr. G

Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) - posting double-figures in scoring. Â Currently, the 6-0 IUP team sits in second place in the PSAC West behind California (Pa.). Â
WHAT'S NEXTThe Crimson Hawks will return to the Kovalchick Complex Wednesday, January 7th to host Cheyney in IUP's first home matchup of 2015.  Following this game, the Crimson Hawks will travel to California (Pa.) for a PSAC West showdown Saturday, January 10th.  Wednesday's tipoff against the Wolves is set for 5:30 p.m.Â
NATIONAL ATTENTIONWith the help of their 10-0 start, the Crimson Hawks have received placements in the Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SIDA and the USA TODAY Sports Division II Top 25 Poll.  In the USA TODAY coaches poll, IUP is sitting at No. 25, tied with Harding University (Ark.).  The Crimson Hawks were sitting in 20th place in the Division II Media Poll, but their win over ranked Bloomsburg moved IUP to No. 11. Â
OVERCOMING RANKED OPPONENTSIn IUP's 10 games, they have earned victories over two teams who were at-the-time nationally ranked.  December 6th, the Crimson Hawks defeated No. 25 Gannon 74-51.  This PSAC win came for IUP before they were ranked in either poll.  December 20th, the Crimson Hawks earned their second win over a ranked team when they overcame the Huskies 67-53. Â
NCAA RANKINGSIn the nation, IUP is ranked in the top 10 in three different categories. Â With the help of Sr. G
Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana), the Crimson Hawks sit in 9th place with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.26. Â IUP hold 3rd place in assists per-game with an average of 19.5. Â
In addition to these positions, the team also holds 9th place in scoring defense (54.2) and 3-point FGs per-game (8.8). Â The Crimson Hawks' also hold 5th place with a scoring margin of 23.5. Â
STAMP OF APPROVALIn just nine games this season, Stamp has already posted six 20-point games, including a season-high 28 against Ohio Valley. Â These high scoring games have placed this senior at the top of the PSAC, averaging 20.4 PPG. Â Earlier this season, she reached the 1,000 point mile marker of her collegiate career.Â
LOOKING TOWARDS 1000Stamp might have reached her 1,000-point milestone, but she's not the only player on the roster within striking distance. Â Stoner currently has a total 884 career points while Mathe has 798 and Sr. G
Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) has 769. Stapleton is a little further away with 635, but she'll have two seasons to reach the mark.Â
STEALING THE SHOWFairman opens the 2014-15 season with 32 total steals in 10 games.  She currently leads the team in steals with 3.2-per-game, and 217 over her four seasons with the Crimson Hawks.  Her defensive play has earned her 2nd place in the PSAC in steals, and a 17th placement in the nation.  As a team, the Crimson Hawks average 8.6 SPG (9th in the PSAC, 130th in the NCAA). Â
MATHE WITH THE ASSISTIn IUP's past nine games, the team has recorded 195 total assists as opposed to their opponents 123. Â The Crimson Hawks average 19.5 APG, a 1st place statistic in the conference. Â Leading the team in assists is Mathe, who records 4.7 APG, and has an NCAA 10th place ranking assist-turnover ratio of 2.94. Â
STONER AND STAPLETON ON TOP Currently in the IUP record books, Stoner and Stapleton sit at the top in their respective categories.  From the foul line, Stoner has posted 211-of-258 shots in her career for a FT% of 81.8, a school-high figure.  This season, she is ranked 4th in the conference (85th in the NCAA) for her 84.6 FT%. Â
Stapleton holds the IUP record for her 41.5 3FG%. Â This percentage is earned after she sunk 119-of-287 shots from behind the three-point line over her three seasons with the Crimson Hawks. Â
SCOUTING EAST STROUDSBURGThe Warriors come into the new year 4-7 overall, 3-4 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference after defeating Lock Haven, Clarion and Pitt-Johnstown in conference play.  Offensively, Sr. G Ryann Fiascki and Sr. F Jessica Martin lead the team in scoring with Fiascki averaging 13.9 PPG, and Martin adding 10.4.  As a team, however, East Stroudsburg sits in 15th place in the PSAC in scoring with 62.0 PPG.  On the defensive side of the ball, So. F Allison Howard and Jr. G Melissa Poderis lead the Warriors with 15 steals each, followed by Jr. G Helena Gemmell with 12.  Martin has also recorded a team-high 28 blocks over the teams 11 games.  This high statistic gives ESU the top spot in the conference with 4.64 blocked shots per-game. Â
SCOUTING WEST CHESTERThe Golden Rams enter Sunday's matchup with the Crimson Hawks 9-1 overall, 6-1 in the PSAC.  This record has earned WCU the No. 1 placement in the PSAC East, and a No. 20 ranking in the D2SIDA Media Poll released Dec. 23rd.  West Chester's only conference loss came from Gannon earlier in the season, when the Golden Knights overcame the Rams 69-61.  Jr. G Dallas Ely leads the team in scoring  with 17.4 PPG.  Defensively, Jr. G Brittany Sicinski tallies 2.1 steals per-game, and Jr. F Anna Kuntz and Sr. F Serifat Junaid each have averaged 1.0 block per-game. Â
