THE GAME
Wednesday, the No. 13 Crimson Hawks return to the Kovalchick Complex to host the Pitt-Johnstown Lady Cats.  Currently, the Crimson hawks sit in 2nd place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division with a conference record of 11-1.  Pitt-Johnstown finds itself in 6th place with a 6-6 PSAC record.  In the all-time series, the Lady Cats lead 34-11. Last season, the Crimson Hawks finished with a 3-0 record against Pitt-Johnstown.  The last time the Lady Cats defeated IUP was in the 2005-06 season when they won 74-63.  

LAST TIME OUT
Last Saturday the Crimson Hawks traveled to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West matchup.  IUP ended the game on top of a 73-48 final score.  Sr. G Lindsay Stamp (Erie, Pa. /Mercyhurst Prep) finished the night with  18 total points and 10 rebounds, earning her fifth double-double of the year.  In addition to Stamp, Sr. G Marita Mathe (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) and Jr. F Zhane Brooks (Erie, Pa. /Villa Maria) scored in double figures.  

WHAT'S NEXT
Saturday, January 24, the Crimson Hawks will travel to Clarion to face the Eagles in PSAC West action.  Clarion currently sits in 9th place in the conference with an overall record of 1-16.  Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

STAMP AGAINST THE LADY CATS
In November 2013, Stamp had one of the best games of her career against Pitt-Johnstown.  The guard posted her career-high 35 points, in addition to her 7R, 3A, 2BLKs, and 2STLs.  Later in the season when the two teams met again, Stamp owned 21P, 9R and 3STL.  

NATIONAL ATTENTION
With their 15-1 record, the Crimson Hawks have been recognized in two national rankings - the USA TODAY WBCA Coaches Poll and the Division II Media Poll 
sponsored by D2SIDA.  This week, IUP moved up to No. 13 in the WBCA poll after ending last week 2-0.  In the D2SIDA poll, the Crimson Hawks were ranked at No. 17 last week. This week, IUP moved up to No. 12.    

REGIONAL RANKINGS
This week, IUP remains in the No. 2 slot in the D2SIDA Atlantic Regional rankings released Monday.  Last week, the Crimson Hawks moved out of No. 1 and into second after falling to California (Pa.), who now holds the top seed. 

THE LEADER
IUP leans on Stamp, the best all-around player for the Crimson Hawks.  She tops the team with 20.4 PPG, and owns a 48.8 FG% after connecting on 123-of-252 shots from the field.  Also 1st on the team with 8.0 RPG, she leads with 8 total blocks, and has added 19 steals.  

HOLDING ONTO THE BALL
In IUP's game against Slippery Rock, the team posted a new school record by only committing five turnovers throughout the entire 40 minutes.  This broke the previous record of six turnovers, which was set in 1991 against Edinboro.  

SUCCESS AT THE LINE
Leading the team in free throws, Sr. F Ashley Stoner (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Thomas Jefferson) has connected on 56-of-64 shots from the line for a FT% of 87.5.  These statistics give her a 2nd place ranking in the conference.  

STEALING THE SHOW
As a team, the Crimson Hawks average 8.0 SPG, earning them the 9th spot in the PSAC and 154th place in the NCAA.  Sr. G Amy Fairman (Creekside, Pa. /Marion Center) leads IUP in steals with 2.8 per-game.  This statistic places her at 3rd in the conference, and ranks her 30th in the NCAA.  Fairman has stolen 44 total balls this season, 229 in her four-year career with IUP.  
FROM BEHIND THE ARC
R-Jr. G Leslie Stapleton (Indiana, Pa. /Indiana) has connected on 33-of-76 three-pointers, giving her a 3rd place PSAC ranking with a 43.4 3FG%.  She also sits at 5th place in the conference with 2.1 3FGs per-game.  

MATHE WITH THE ASSIST
Dishing out 19.75 APG has earned IUP a top spot in the conference and in the NCAA.  The Crimson Hawks also hold first place in the PSAC with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.36, a 5th place NCAA ranking.  

Leading the team in assists is Mathe who averages 5.0 APG, and owns a 2.8 assist/turnover ratio.  Both of these statistics have her in second place in the PSAC, but her 
assist/turnover ratio ranks at 7th in the NCAA. 

OFF THE BENCH
Seeing action off the bench in 15 games, Brooks is second on the team with 5.9 RPG.  She ranks behind the five starters in points, with an average of 6.6 PPG.  Her season-highs came against Mansfield (16P) and Shepherd (9R).  

TOP TEN
So far this season, leading scorer Stamp has posted 10 20-point games.  Most recently was her team-high 22 points against Edinboro.  In addition, she has recorded five double-doubles in just 16 games.  

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Monday, the conference announced Stamp as the PSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.  This honor comes after the senior 
posted her fifth double-double of the season against Slippery Rock. 

SCOUTING PITT-JOHNSTOWN
The 7-6 Lady Cats from Pitt-Johnstown enter Wednesday's game  coming off two conference losses to Gannon and Mercyhurst.  Two Pitt-Johnstown impact players find themselves at the top of the PSAC for their three-point shooting including Jr. G Kayla DeCriscio with a 52.6 3FG% and Sr. G Kelsey Sleighter with 3.1 three-pointers per-game. On average, DeCriscio averages 8.6 PPG off the bench, with Sleighter adding 15.6 PPG.  Defensively, Jr. G Dominique Smith leads the team with 21 steals, followed by Sleighter with 20.  Sr. F Nicole Carman leads in blocks with seven total.
