INDIANA, Pa. – Sophomore
Lexie Palluconi (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport) headed home a cross in the 100th minute to cap a come-from-behind 2-1 victory against visiting Millersville Saturday at South Campus Field.
Sophomore
Brandie Bryant (Essex, Md./Eastern Technical) found freshman substitute
Carley Donia (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) on a short pass before Donia dribbled down the right wing and crossed into the Millersville penalty area, where Palluconi was waiting to nod in the winner.
Down 1-0 after a quick goal just after halftime, the Crimson Hawks regrouped and scored twice to move to 7-5-2 and 6-4-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play.
In a back-and-forth affair, sophomore
Cassidy LeDonne (Murrysville, Pa. /Franklin Regional) scored off a corner kick from senior captain
Kelly Jacobson (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), as the two defenders hooked up to tie up the game in the 71st minute.
Palluconi's goal, her eighth of the season, was also her second walk-off score of the season. The Crimson Hawks' second-leading goal scorer converted in extra time in IUP's first victory of the year Sept. 5 at Clarion.
The Crimson Hawks take the field again Wednesday, hosting Seton Hill in a PSAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at South Campus Field.
