BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Junior goalie
Jessica Printz (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) tied a season-high with eight saves but IUP couldn't get its offense in gear as the Crimson Hawks dropped a 2-0 women's soccer decision at Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon.
The match was an important one in the playoff race in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). With the loss, IUP has fallen to ninth place in the standings with a 7-5-2 (23 points) conference record while Bloomsburg climbed to sixth in the league with an 8-6-1 (25 points) record.
Both goals for the Huskies came in the second half, getting scores in the 51st and 88th minutes. Bloomsburg had 13 shots for the game, including 10 shots on goal. The Crimson Hawks were limited to three shots and one on goal.
Bloomsburg also held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Two games are left in the Crimson Hawks' regular season as they close with conference opponents Edinboro (Tuesday) and Shippensburg (Saturday) next week. The Fighting Scots are fifth in the conference standings with 27 points while the Raiders are one point behind IUP with 22 points.
