INDIANA, Pa. – Despite the first career goal by Crimson Hawks' sophomore
Megan Coyne (Fairview Park, Ohio/Fairview Park), a second half score by Edinboro pushed the Fighting Scots past IUP in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) women's soccer duel on Tuesday afternoon.
The match, which was key for the Crimson Hawks in their PSAC postseason chase, dropped them to 7-6-2 in the league. IUP has 23 points and is currently two back of East Stroudsburg (25) for the eighth and final spot in the tournament with one game left to play.
Coyne's goal tied the game at 1-1 in the 28th minute, with fellow sophomore
Lexie Palluconi (Penfield, N.Y./Fairport) finding her on a cross from the right side. It was Palluconi's team-leading eight assist of the year. Edinboro (11-5, 10-5) took the lead with the game-winning goal in the 60th minute.
The Fighting Scots outshot IUP 16-4 on the day, including 9-3 for shots on goal. Edinboro also held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Crimson Hawks face a must-win match this Saturday in their season finale as they travel to Shippensburg to face the Raiders (10-6-1, 8-6-1). Shippensburg is currently in sixth place in the PSAC standings with 25 points. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
