INDIANA, Pa. – The Crimson Hawks combined for 12 wins and 24 conference qualifying marks as the IUP men's and women's swim teams debuted with a dual sweep of visiting Shippensburg at Pidgeon Natatorium on Tuesday.
Three men doubled up with a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying marks, including
Andrew Richey in the 50 and 100 freestyle,
RJ Hammond in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle, and
Sterling Tate in the 200 and 500 freestyle.
Richey put up times of 22.12 in the 50 and 50.06 in the 100. Hammond swam a 50.02 in the fly and a 1:49.50 in the free while Tate had times of 1:48.02 in the 200 and 5:01.24 in the 500.
On the women's side, four different swimmers hit qualifying times in two different event.
Taylor Cisik had times of 25.28 in the 50 free and 55.14 in the 100 free.
Nicole Smith was a qualifier in the 100 free (54.43) and 200 free (1:57.62).
Bria Otwell hit her times in the 500 free and 1000 free with times of 5:28.75 and 10:54.06, respectively. And
Regan Chalk swam times of 25.60 in the 50 free and 1:01.60 in the 100 backstroke.

This was the first of three straight home duals to open the 2016-17 season for the Crimson Hawks. They'll host Edinboro on Saturday and Saint Vincent on November 11.
