INDIANA, Pa. – Senior goalkeeper
Jessica Printz (Fairfax, Va./WT Woodson) made five saves as the IUP women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to 11th-ranked West Chester in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play at South Campus Field on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss the Crimson Hawks fall to 7-6 overall and 6-5 in league play. Meanwhile, the Golden Rams improve to 11-0 behind an 11-0 conference mark.
West Chester struck quickly as Scarlett Walsh found the back of the net at the 7:11-mark. IUP tied the game in the 24th minute as
McKenna Keffel (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) scored her second goal of the season.
In the second half the Crimson Hawks nearly took the lead in the 53rd minute as a shot from
Lexie Palluconi (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) was saved by Golden Rams goalkeeper Alex Srolis. West Chester then took a 2-1 lead just minutes later as Walsh scored her second goal of the game at the 57:40-mark before the Golden Rams extended the lead to 3-1 with a penalty kick goal from Gabrielle Termini in the 71st minute.
Keffel led the team with a team-high three shots while Palluconi added one shot. Printz made all five of her saves in the second half while playing all 90 minutes.
IUP continues PSAC play with a trip to Millersville on Saturday, October 15 with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
