Glover’s 23 Highlights Balanced Effort for Men’s Basketball in 21-point win over Edinboro

Sophomore guard Anthony Glover was one of four players to score in double-figures, going 8-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range to set a new career-high with 23 points.

INDIANA, Pa. – Senior guard Anthony Glover (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) scored a career-high 23 points to help the IUP men's basketball team to a 94-73 blowout win over Edinboro on Saturday night at the Kovalchick Complex.
 
The win was the 12th straight for the Crimson Hawks as they took a three-game lead in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division with a 15-3 league record. They're also 18-5 overall. Edinboro falls to 12-9 overall and remain in third place in the division with an 11-7 conference record.
 
Glover's 23 came on 8-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three-point range. He added four rebounds, four steals and three assists in 32 minutes.
 
Freshman forward Jacobo Diaz (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain/CBA Gran Canaria) tied a season-high with 20 points while grabbing seven rebounds in 29 minutes in his second career start. He finished 8-of-10 from the field and added three assists.
 
Those were two of four double-digit scorers for IUP, which scored a season-high 94 on Saturday in front of more than 2,500 in attendance. Senior guard Brandon Norfleet (Virginia Beach, Va. /Landstown) extended his streak to 23 straight double-figure scoring games with 16 points, adding six rebounds and six assists in 36 minutes. Senior forward Daddy Ugbede (Gardena, Calif./Serra) came off the bench to score 17 points in 20 minutes, going 9-of-10 from the foul line.
 
The Crimson Hawks shot nearly 54 percent from the field, making 35-of-65 shots. They also went 11-of-22 from three-point range, the most triples made in a game this season.
 
The IUP defense forced 17 turnovers and limited the PSAC's top scoring duo of Jaymon Mason and Henri Wade-Chatman to a combined 28 points. Mason, who entered the game ranked second in the league behind Norfleet with over 21 points per game, scored nine of his 12 points from the foul line.
 
The Crimson Hawks hit the road for a pair of games next week, heading to Clarion on Wednesday and Slippery Rock on Saturday. Tipoff against the Golden Eagles on Wednesday is set for 7:30 p.m.
